Biomedical Systems’ Employees Are Good To the Last Pint
Biomedical Systems recently held its first blood drive in the 35 year history of the St. Louis office. Hosted by EPIC, the company’s Employee Planning & Initiative Committee, 38 complete units of blood were collected with 23 employees being first-time donors.
According the American Red Cross website currently only 3 out of every 100 people (3%) in America donate blood. Biomedical Systems signed up 48 of the approximately 250 day shift employees (20%) at the St. Louis corporate headquarters. “We are proud to have such exceptional people working for the company,” said Timothy R. Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of Biomedical Systems. “Giving blood can be very difficult for a lot of people and to see the large number of employees that gave is extremely gratifying to me.”
A special salute goes out to the BMS Blood Drive Subcommittee of Mindy Wolff, Mendi Riechers, Amy Bauche and Marlene Pendleton who planned, promoted and coordinated the event with the help of the American Red Cross of St. Louis. Future blood drives are in the works.
